Redesigning the crossbody I never wore
I was cleaning out my closet when I picked up an old crossbody purse. I dusted it off remembering that I purchased it for a trip years ago. I held the bag up to my shoulder and considered selling it and maybe getting a new bag that would fit my desired style. In the mirror, the purse’s body was simple, sleek, and thin. I realized it would make the perfect shoulder purse if I shortened the strap, and I would wear it a lot more too.
I took it to my local repair shop. The tailor cut the excess strap to alter the bag to sit perfectly near my waist. He kept the purse’s original chain and details. It’s now the perfect mini bag for a chic daytime look or a night out.
I love taking my closet staples and mending them as my style changes. Every time I wear this shoulder purse, I love it even more because it’s altered to my body and sits comfortably at my waist. It’s now the bag I grab for any night out.
